Founded by DJ/Producer Mohammed Bansil a.k.a DJ Med Messiah, Morobeats is an independent record label and distributor with a collective of various artists who are deeply focused on culture, social issues and lyrical expressionism. Bansil tightly managed to gather profound, stoic and passionate lyricists from all over the country. To name a few, some of the notable artists under the label’s umbrella are Rudic, J-Kid, Damsa, Kudos, Fateeha, Kintab Talas and Tanikala.
Backed by Bansil’s rock-solid and ingenius musical background (as a DJ/Producer), the Morobeats’ roster of artists are way far from the mainstream zone, for their penultimate purpose in this somewhat, ‘defiled’ musical genre is to drop knowledge, realization and enlightenment about a plethora of social, cultural and political dilemma. And thankfully, Morobeats is an open platform. It’s an open door for everyone who wanted to be heard and share their passion in music. Believe me, you can send unsolicited demos or video clips to the ever-grateful and supportive DJ Med Messiah; and the last thing he would do, is to frisbee your shit out of the window without listening to it.

Hip Hop is a spatial genre of music in the Philippines. But despite of the genre’s fan base in millions, there are still many intrinsic artists that need to be heard. Lyricists who drop gems verses after verses but sadly, to get simply recognized as one of the musicians to embrace and appreciate – is very elusive based on the chances and circumstances. Many people support their chosen artists, but not the movement as a whole.
So to all the aspiring emcees, please, don’t stop. Remember, every words you stitch and spit could give you an undying legacy in the future. No one knows. And you’ll never know, if you’re going to stop now. Most of the musicians you look up to did not wait for the opportunity to drop from somewhere, they chased it.
